Product Description

1008 Cold Rolled Steel Coil

1008 cold rolled steel coil contains about 1.2% manganese and 0.4% silicon. There are also nickel, aluminium, chromium, copper and molybdenum present in small quantities in the carbon steels. AISI 1008 carbon steel coil has excellent weldability, which includes projection, butt, spot and fusion, and brazeability. 1008 cold rolled steel coil is mainly used in automobile, printed metal pail, building, building materials, and bicycle, etc. Besides, it is the best material to manufacture organic coated strip.

FAQ

Q1: What types of steel products does your company primarily manufacture and supply?
A: We are a direct manufacturer specializing in carbon steel, hot-dip galvanized steel, PPGI (pre-painted galvanized iron), and stainless steel (grades 201, 304, and 316) in the form of sheets, coils, pipes, and various structural profiles, along with complementary steel structural components. Our products serve a wide range of industries, including infrastructure, photovoltaics, machinery manufacturing, chemicals, and new energy.

Q2: Do you support customization regarding material grades, thicknesses, and dimensions?
A: Customization is available across our entire product range. For carbon steel, galvanized steel, and stainless steel, we can adjust thickness, width, and cut-to-length dimensions according to GB, ASTM, or EN standards. Various profiles can be cut and bent based on customer drawings, and special steel grades can be produced through customized scheduling.

Q3: What is the difference between galvanized steel and color-coated (PPGI) steel, and how should I choose for my project?
A: Hot-dip galvanized steel features a pure zinc anti-rust layer; it is cost-effective and impact-resistant, making it ideal for mounting brackets, guardrails, and load-bearing factory structures (and it can be painted over). PPGI color-coated steel uses a galvanized base, offering both rust protection and aesthetic appeal with a wide range of colors; it is commonly used for factory roofing, wall cladding, and energy storage equipment casings. We recommend thicker galvanized coatings for projects in rainy coastal areas, color-coated sheets for outdoor projects requiring visual appeal, and weather-resistant fluorocarbon (PVDF) coatings for high-temperature desert environments.

Q4: Does the factory keep stock on hand, and what is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
A: We operate our own standardized, zoned warehouse with a capacity of over 10,000 tons, maintaining ample stock of carbon steel, galvanized steel, and stainless steel. The MOQ for standard specifications is 1 ton, though we also accept sample orders as small as a few dozen kilograms. There is no upper limit for large-scale projects, and we support mixed-load shipments combining different steel products in a single container.

Q5: What are the lead times for stock items versus customized products?
A: Standard stock items take 3–7 days for processing, packaging, and container loading. Simple cutting and bending orders take 7–10 days. Orders requiring mold creation or special steel customization take 15–30 days; exact delivery dates are confirmed based on the customer's specific order specifications.
